Fishing is still a way of life in Porto Venere which is located in the Cinque Terre region of Italy. Local fisherman anchor their fishing or row boats a few feet off shore or tie them to the small docks that are prominent in the harbors of all five villages. Tourists often rent the row boats for sight-seeing purposes. Ancient castle ruins and churches are nestled in the local homes.
