Frequently Asked Questions

What is “editorial style” photography?
It is a respected approach to wedding photography. Editorial photography is featured in magazines (not exclusively); when applied to wedding photography, it encompasses the fashions, decorations, styles and traditions chosen by the bride and groom. We concentrate on quietly taking candid photographs that capture the subtle nuances, excitement, nervousness, and pure joy that comes with everyone’s wedding day. We incorporate posed pictures into the services we offer according to what the bride and groom have deemed important. We then do our best to blend into the surroundings, allowing everyone space to enjoy the festivities.

How long do you spend taking pictures? Is there a time limit?
According to the package we design with our bride and groom, the time limit varies. We have custom designed packages for our clients with smaller budgets who only needed three hours; whereas others needed full-day coverage to achieve their photography requirements. Some couples want the bride/groom preparing for their day, portraits, the ceremony, and the reception. Others hire us for only a few hours.

How many images or prints will we receive?
That will depend on how many hours you ask us to take pictures and whether you hire one photographer or two. We will take several hundred photographs and carefully edit them to achieve the story of your wedding day. The bride and groom create their desired package products during the planning process (although this is not to say other products can’t be purchased after the wedding); therefore, they receive high-quality images ranging in size and number.

Why don’t you spend a lot of time taking posed pictures?
The photographers want you to have time to enjoy the day and loved ones, to celebrate the love for one another, to laugh with friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime. We don’t want you to spend half of your day posing for photographs. It often takes us about 30-45 minutes to produce poignant yet casual pictures of the bride and the groom with their families and wedding party.

How far in advance should we book photography services?
Couples book us from several weeks to a year in advance. If all of our photographers are booked on the day of your wedding, we will recommend another company that is appropriate for your photographic needs. We are happy to extend references to our couples should they be interested in hearing what others have to say about our services.

What happens if the photographer cannot physically make it to the wedding because of unforeseen circumstances?
In the photographic community, we are constantly communicating with one another. Should an unforeseen occurrence arise, we will provide you with another photography company that is available to cover your wedding.

Do you provide online viewing and product selection?
Yes. To make it easy for you and your guests to view your photos, we provide Internet viewing. Prints, albums, note cards, and many other products can be ordered quickly on a secured Internet site.

How much does it cost?
We have a large range of packages for our couples to review. We can custom design a package to suit your budget. The charge is based on how many hours you hire us for, where you will be married, and whether you need one photographer or two.

We haven’t chosen a wedding photographer – do you have any advice for us?
Your wedding day will be a whirlwind of emotions and wonderful moments. As your photographers, we will create memories for you that will be cherished long after your wedding gown is stored away. Please hire a professional photographer. We don’t suggest asking a friend who “owns a digital camera and takes good pictures” to photograph your wedding. Trust your once-in-a-lifetime memories to an experienced, imaginative photography company. You will be thankful as you flip through the images in twenty years.
